In this project, MoveIn seeks to address the problem of unreached, urban poor people living in high-needs neighbourhoods, where they are unlikely to ever hear the gospel without an active witness moving into their community. There is great need for the Church-at-large to be mobilized to the “bottom billion”, to share the love of Christ, to work for justice for the poor, and to move towards solutions to combat cyclical poverty and the issues it creates.

Executive Summary from MoveIn:
MoveIn believes that as “the Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighbourhood” (John 1:14), our faith compels us to these hard places. The vision of MoveIn is to see thousands of regular Christians prayerfully move in among the unreached, urban poor.
This mission has been propelled forward by our Vision Team, a staff team dedicated to catalyzing new growth. These staff raise the majority of their salaries through relational support raising, and are committed members of MoveIn teams. The need is for funding to equip this staff to mobilize into new regions.
Vision Team members will travel to cities in the Majority World and needy areas of the developed world to: build partnerships with local churches, local ministries, and organizations; present the vision of MoveIn to the Church; pray through slums and other target communities; and mobilize individuals and groups of Christians to intentionally move in among the poor. Funds will be used for travel costs, event costs in new regions, communication and printing, research projects, and specific training for pioneer staff.
This will include staff members who will move to new cities and possibly new countries indefinitely to pioneer new MoveIn teams. We already have three staff who have successfully relocated into slums, and three more who plan to in the coming year. Ideally the majority of teams will be comprised of national believers.
Once these teams move into designated neighbourhoods, over time through relational evangelism and community development, their literal neighbours will be impacted holistically by the gospel. Over the long term and through partnership, the local church will also be blessed by the example and model of these teams that choose to live among their poor. As we have already witnessed in this growing movement, when small seeds of teams are planted, we see an exponential increase of Christians moving in among the poor.
Measurable Outcomes:
- In the following twelve months our staff team (The MoveIn Vision Team) will expand the MoveIn movement by mobilizing five new neighbourhood teams. Three of these five new teams will pioneer new cities and one will pioneer a new country.
- These teams of committed Christians will follow the same ministry model as the rest of our movement by being living in their unreached, urban poor neighbourhood, praying for neighbours, and pursuing relational ministry.
- Additionally, over the long term, with the support of our staff team, they will stimulate further growth of the MoveIn movement in these new regions.
