Update on the Spark Initiative 2018

Mark PetersenNews

The window for receiving Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) by interested applicants for the Spark Initiative is now closed.  Thank you to all who showed interest in this opportunity. By the deadline of January 26, 2018 we had received 24 LOIs from millennial social entrepreneurs from across Canada.  At the time of this post, staff are working behind the scenes to determine the shortlist which will be reviewed by our panel of millennial judges.

The Spark Initiative, a granting and mentoring opportunity for millennial social entrepreneurs, has launched a second round after a successful conclusion to round one last year.  The Spark Initiative has been adopted as a ministry of the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ), and is being led by Next Gen Director, Matt Wilkinson.  The public is invited to meet the winning millennial social innovators at a gala on June 6, 2018 in Toronto.

This initiative is grateful to the following generous people and organizations who make it possible:

  • Bridgeway Foundation
  • Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec
  • David & Dorothy Lam Foundation
  • Holmes Family
  • John & Rebecca Horwood
  • Rosemary Horwood
  • Lutz Family Foundation
  • Mitchell Family Foundation

  • Redleaf Foundation
