Discover charities and build your shortlist

The Charities section introduces organizations that have registered with Stronger Philanthropy. Search by name, location, programs, or leader, and explore information available on each charity’s card. Profiles include organizational summaries, leadership bios, financial data, website links, videos, and our carefully-crafted, downloadable charity dashboards.

Details not available through general internet searches, but available through our exclusive portal, give you a starting point for asking informed questions about fit and capacity.

If a charity you would like to explore is missing from our database, Add a Charity to request Stronger Philanthropy contact it and request registration. You are not limited to the organizations already listed.

Stronger Philanthropy handles the messy middle. We invite grant applications only from organizations you have shortlisted. We work with charities to produce solid applications that specify measurable outcomes so you know what you’re contributing to. Your family can dedicate one evening or weekend per year to review collected applications and make informed granting decisions.

Review applications with greater clarity

When applications are ready, New Proposals brings them together for review in your portal. Open application packages to review their case for support, project budget, and a customized video for your group. Consistent presentation allows for easy and quick evaluation of opportunities.

All members of your family or group can vote to score proposals. One glance at your decision worksheet shows where the whole group lands, and where gaps exist for further discussion. This feature is especially helpful for launching next generations into your foundation’s decision-making.

Stay connected after a grant is awarded

Involvement does not end with a funding decision. The Active Grants section brings together project information and progress reports so you can track your progress for grants you’ve funded.

Grant cards show details such as the amount awarded, project term, and available progress reports. Colour-coded assessments from Stronger Philanthropy identify projects with no issues noted (green), those facing challenges (amber), and those encountering roadblocks (red).

This is a practical way to see which updates deserve a closer look and prepare questions for your next conversation.

Understand your giving over time

The History section offers a broader view of the grants recorded in your portfolio over years or decades. Use maps, charts, and filters to explore giving by year, region, charity, and other categories, alongside a searchable grant list.

Use filters to revisit organizations you have supported, consider how your geographic focus has developed, or prepare for a discussion about future priorities. Seeing individual decisions together makes patterns easier to recognize.

Keep learning and stay connected

Events add current opportunities to connect beyond an application or progress report.

Event cards provide dates, locations or online details, and registration links or downloadable information for organizations you favour. Attending events and participating with charities in other ways allows the opportunity for ongoing connection for all members of your family or group.
