Bridgeway at 35

Mark PetersenResources

Friends of Bridgeway Foundation gathered together this week to celebrate an important milestone: the 35th anniversary of the creation of the foundation, one of Stronger Philanthropy’s core clients.  For twenty years, the foundation was a seed sown in obscurity, unendowed, the dream of founders Reg and Carol Petersen.  In the late 90s, the foundation received an endowment and began giving in earnest.  The giving was done with a strategic purpose – to strengthen Canadian Christian charities through capacity building grants and injecting innovation capital into new initiatives.  This year marks 35 years since Bridgeway’s inception, and 15 years since the foundation was staffed and organized around a strategic purpose.

Bridgeway staff created a memory book for the founders which includes my overview of the history of the foundation, an essay on generosity by former President of Regent College, Rod Wilson, and another on legacy and succession by The Gathering President, Fred Smith.  Photos of past grants and key partners, along with comments by over fifty of them, are included.  The book ends with a detailed list of all Bridgeway grants given 1993-2015.

The books are complimentary, but we ask you to cover $20 CAD for shipping and handling.   Please contact us with your mailing address to arrange for the delivery of your book.
