Health Partners International Canada is working with a third party to develop software that will help its partner clinics and hospitals in the developing world better track their pharmaceuticals. This creative health care project from a leading charity in Quebec will allow many lives to be impacted, and as such, attracted Stronger Together grantmakers’ enthusiastic support. At the same time, we believe HPIC needs to strengthen its fundraising in its home province.
We challenge Quebec donors to match our funds and will offer $3 for every $1 donated to HPIC up to $45,000 when given before October 31, 2015.
Project Name: | Pharmaceutical Inventory Management Project |
Grant Amount: | $45,000.00 |
Purpose of Investment: | To develop a new and accessible pharmaceutical inventory management program for partner clinics and hospitals in the developing world. |
Participating Grantmakers: | Acts of Grace Foundation, Bridgeway Foundation, John & Rebecca Horwood, Mitchell Family Foundation |
Measurable Outcomes:
1) By June 2016, develop a new and accessible pharmaceutical inventory management program with software developers for HPIC’s field partners. This program will fully adhere to international standards on pharmaceutical management and would allow pharmacy staff to manage their pharmaceutical products more effectively.
2) By April 2016, develop comprehensive training and reference materials for the inventory program in 2 languages. These materials would allow new users throughout the Global South to independently and confidently operate the program once installed.
3) By May 2016, undertake focus group testing of the pharmaceutical management software and receive feedback from at least 5 different HPIC partners. This study would test the program and ensure it fulfills the needs of various users, allowing HPIC to improve its service provision in the field of pharmaceutical management.
