Executive Summary from RZIM:
We will be producing 25 different one-minute spots called “Chances Are…”. These will include topics such as faith and science, suffering and a loving God, the existence of God, and the meaning of success. The “Chances Are…” series is designed specifically to attract people’s attention to the issues we are being asked everyday. Our one minute teasers will also drive people to a specially-designed website where there will be additional resources to give them a broader answer to their questions.
We have been able to attract 65 secular radio stations across Canada including CFTR 680 in Toronto, CJOB 680 in Winnipeg, and 22 secular radio stations owned by Golden West Radio in Altona, MB that will reach Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We have also negotiated broadcast time on news/talk radio in six major Canadian markets during the morning drive time from Monday to Friday. To complement this, we are also going to be aired on 115 Christian radio networks from coast to coast. We believe that we can reach over 11 million Canadians through this network of stations.
We have also purchased extra radio time in strategic centers during the Christmas/New Year season and during Easter. In the Winnipeg market, we are also launching an eight-week electronic billboard campaign in three strategic locations in Winnipeg. These will run from November 28 to December 25 and then again March 20 through April 16. This will enhance the marketing of “Chances are” and make people aware of the initiative.
We have the opportunity to air the program on 680 News in Toronto for 8 weeks in December 2016 and January 2017 or for 6 weeks in the Easter season running March 15 to April 30, 2017. 680 News is the largest audience in the GTA with in excess of 3 million listeners.
This is the largest multi-media initiative that RZIM has ever undertaken.
This combination of radio and social media, with website follow-up and marketing material, means there will be a comprehensive array of information available for listeners from all walks of life. They will be able to explore their questions and ask further questions, too. This combination will enable RZIM to have a valuable, thought-provoking and stimulating dialogue with thousands of listeners, enabling many people to think through key issues of life in a deeper way for the very first time.
Measurable Outcomes:
1) To challenge Canadian listeners to examine their worldview relating to the key issues of life. The initiative will air for 29 weeks with a new topic each week.
2) Summary of goals:
(a) Radio:
- 65 secular radio stations to broadcast the messages across Canada
- 115 Christian radio stations to air during morning drive from Monday to Friday
- Secure mainstream news/talk radio in 8 strategic market
(b) Integrated Media:
- Target guest rate increase of 20% to the website over 7 months
- Target 50% skeptics and 50% Christian guests to the website
- Target 20 million radio impressions
- Target of 10 million RZIM social media impressions
- Target 5000 guests per month by mid campaign
